Emergency Contraception

Known as the “morning after pill”, Plan B One Step is emergency contraception. We provide the generic brand of emergency contraception at a substantial savings over pharmacy prices.

Emergency contraception is most effective in the first 12-24 hours after unprotected intercourse, but may be effective up to 120 hours. EC works to delay ovulation if it has not already happened, so “the sooner, the better.” It's a good idea to keep a pack on hand. There is a theoretical success rate of about 85%, although results cannot be guaranteed.

We also provide prescriptions for the newer emergency contraception, Ella. A recent study in Europe has cast doubt on whether Plan B is effective for overweight women. It may be that Ella will work better. This continues to be studied. Ella is not covered by all insurance plans.
